John 3:16-19
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and
men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (KJV)

Thank you Lord for all you are to, and all
you've done for me. I will ever be grateful to you for your great love that sent
your only Son to this world of sin to save a wretched sinner like me. His death
has certainly brought light and life to a hitherto hopeless and hapless world,
which has been a pawn in Satan's chessboard. Any one who seizes the privilege
the gospel presents will forever be grateful in heaven. On the contrary whoever
will spawn the opportunity will suffer eternal regrets in the lake that burns
with fire and brimstone.
Friend why not take this time to think of what tomorrow will be. Probably it
will never meet you here on this side of eternity. Where else can it meet you.
Well, either of those two places you've always heard about; hell or heaven. Both
are real and you will certainly be in either, depending on what you do with the
son of God -- Jesus Christ -- and your life today.
Sin is the great dividing factor which determines who goes to hell and who
enters heaven. But be sure, no sinner will ever make it to heaven; no, not even
the most moral of them. The truth is that, God is angry with the sinner every
day: as such it will practically be impossible for God to allow them into his
abode. There are a number of reasons for this mortal hatred God has for sin. But
the most obvious of this include:
Sin came as the first great separator, introduced by Satan, which drove a wedge
between man and his Creator; consequently, anybody who continues in sin after
the death of the Saviour is regarded as a deliberate rebel against God and an
avowed servant of Satan;
Since Jesus Christ has been sent to the world as the greatest demonstration of
God's love to His creation, to continue in sin is a deliberate spawn of God's
love:
The privilege provided by the widespread preaching of the gospel all over the
world has presented all and sundry the opportunity to choose between God and
Satan, between good and evil and between love and hate. Continuing in sin,
therefore, is a way of trying the patience of God and thereby daring the
Creator's wrath.
You can imaging how it feels when you give instruction to your ward with the
best of affection you can possibly give, to the point of hurting yourself in the
process; but, all-the-same, the ward, on whom you are about killing yourself
just spawn your efforts and began to mock you. You would not be happy at him,
would you? Certainly not. God has given you the best he could afford -- His only
Son (Romans 5:6-8; John 3:16) He hurt Him and Himself by allowing him to carry
your punishment -- die in your place (because justice demands that you must die
for the sin, evil and wickedness that you've been involved in) so that you can
escape the heavy punishment in hell. Yes, he did that so that you can come back
to Him and be His again.
Friend you can't continue the way you are going, you cannot go on in sin because
the consequence will be too terrible for you. No you will not dare stand before
the just God whose love you've continuously spawned. No! You dare not hope for
it, do not even allow the thought ever cross your mind.
What is sin? You may be asking. In the simplest sense sin can be said to be
anything you do that hurts the feeling of others, be it man or God. You remember
the golden rule? "Do to others as you'll have them do to you". But taking
further, sin includes all you do to hurt yourself. Why? Because, when you hurt
yourself you are actually hurting God; you know He created you in His own image
and after His likeness. When you do anything to hurt yourself, therefore, you
are in essence disfiguring the image and the likeness of God. The same thing
happens each time you do something to hurt fellow man; you hurt God. Remember,
however, that God is angry with the sinner every day. It does not really matter
what the religious belief of the sinner is; Christianity, Islam, Hinduism,
Confucianism, etc. Neither does his position in society or place of worship of
any importance. A sinner is a sinner. Before God we are all equal. You may be a
fornicator, an adulterer, a thief, a murderer, a backbiter, you practice
witchcraft or sorcery, or you are a liar or are worshipping other gods -- money,
beauty, men, women, talents, etc. God is daily angry with you.
Yet, He would not want you to forever be hated by Him. He wants a
reconciliation, a peaceful resolution with you in which a loving relationship
can grow between you. This is why he sought for a neutral mediator to stand
between the sinner and Himself. No one could be so qualified except one who
knows what it takes to be God and how it feels to be a man. This was why it was
needful that Jesus Christ who have been with God from the beginning to come and
put on the form of a man in order to taste the pain and the weakness as well as
the frailty and the emotion of man . He was also to show by example how man
should live in order to please his Maker. He came to do this without sinning .
It was by this that He qualified as the mediator between a sinful man and His
creator.
Not only this, his vicarious death on the cross paid the ransom that was
necessary to redeem man from the slave-room of Satan and free him from the
terrible consequences of sin. By now you should have begin to understand why you
should have no mercy should you scorn the love and grace of God.
More than this, God has been patient with you till now so that you can have the
opportunity to repent and turn to Him.
The question is how do you turn to God? First, all you need is faith in God.
Accept the fact that God loves you, although He would have been just to condemn
you, but that His love has compelled Him to plan for your redemption. Second,
you must accept the fact that you are a sinner, not just by the life you've been
living till now, but also by the fact of your nature and that you deserve
nothing but condemnation. You should have a genuine desire to turn from your
present lifestyle; that if you continue in your present ways you will end up
facing the just anger of God which will mean an everlasting punishment in hell.
Third, you should also accept the fact that you are helpless against sin and
Satan if left to yourself because you are a servant to him -- you need a saviour,
a deliverer. Again you must accept that God sent Jesus Chist to this world both
as a propritiation for your sins and your deliverer from slave-hold of sin and
Satan. Finally, you must pray for the forgiveness of your sins and ask Jesus to
come and be your Saviour and Lord so that your life can have a redirection by
him, believing that it will be as you asked.
If you do this sincerely, you will see definite changes in your life.
